Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three Secondary School students for raping a 14-year-old girl.
Spokesman for the Police Command, SP Fumilayo Odunlami, gave the names of the suspects as Idris Matthew, 17, Olawale Tobi, 18, and Ajayi Michael, 17.
Odunlami said the suspects were being held over a conspiracy and defilement.
She said the suspects who are students of Akure High School, gang-raped the victim at the back of the school gate.
The incident was said to have occurred on Thursday within the school premises.
Sources said the girl was raped when she went to defecate inside a bush within the school during break period.
She was reportedly waylaid by the three boys who took turns on her.
It was bloodstains on her uniform when she walked back to the classroom that gave the boys away, it was said.
Another source said one of the suspects had earlier demanded sex from the victim, but she turned him down.
The suspect then invited his two friends to join him to rape her, it was said.
