Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended an invitation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay a State Visit to China in September. The invitation was presented by the visiting Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Chen Xiaodong, during a visit to the Aso Villa on Thursday. This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. According to the invitation, which he had accepted, the visit would cement the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China, with further talks on the proposed currency swap agreement. He added that President Xi Jinping looked forward to receiving First Lady Remi Tinubu during the visit. Accompanied by a retinue of officials, Chen Xiaodong presented President Tinubu with a formal invitation and symbolized the importance which the country places on its relationship with Nigeria.
