Bishop Tom Samson led Christ Royal Family Church is in a joyous mood at the moment, occasioned by their forthcoming 30th anniversary celebration coming up on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the churchs expansive 100 hectares international camp ground, Royal City, Iyesin-Otta in Ogun State.
Christ Royal Family Intl Church was founded thirty years ago, precisely in 1991, in a small bakery in Akowonjo area of Lagos, when young Violent Tom, as he was affectionately called then for his torment to the kingdom of darkness, fresh from the University enthusiastically heeded the call of God. From that humble beginning, the church has sprouted across major cities in Nigeria and beyond.
The weeklong celebration of Christ Royal Family at 30 will commence on the 5th of December at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State, then the train move to Royal Tower beside Ikeja Local Government between 6th and 7th, and then to Christ Royal Family Camp ground, Iyesin, on Wednesday 8th to 12 December, 2021.
The program tagged, Behold I will do a new thing, is billed to have several men of God in attendance, some of whom are Apostle Lawrence Achudime, Apostles Tony Okoh and Tim Gbassha. Others are Bishops Femi Samson, Stephen Ogedegbe, Amao Thomas and Jide Orire; Arch Bishop Joseph Ojo, Apostle Lanre Samson and the founder, Bishop (Dr.) Tom Samson.
Recounting his 30 years journey in ministry, His Lordship, Bishop Tom Samson enunciated that though it has not been an easy stride but the grace of God has been sufficient to see him through. He said God clearly gave him a mandate to set the captives free and teach them how to reign over lifes circumstances, a vision he picked up even as a young undergraduate way back at the then Bendel State University, Ekpoma and then Abraka in 1985 and 1986 respectively.
According to him, the Campus Fellowship that metamorphosed into the Christ Royal Family of today, saw him moving from villages across Delta and Edo States to various campus to deliver the oppressed from the shackles of satanic bondages.
It was in one of his outreach evangelisms were cultists gave their lives to Christ that earned him the nick name, Violent Tom.
Though Tom is unarguably one of the most blessed and flamboyant pastors today, it has not been like that from beginning, his story is a typical example of a life of grass to grace. He slept in uncompleted buildings, begged foods to eat, amongst several degrading life he was subjected to in those early years, yet he stood his ground for the sake of the gospel, and today, he is an envy of all eyes, for God has indeed blessed him.
Beyond being a pastor, Bishop Tom Samson is a philanthropist and has touched lives and communities through his Foundation.
