It was a harvest of awards for LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited as it scooped home the awards for “Most Female-centric Microfinance Bank 2021” in the Women in Marketing Communications Award (WIMCA) and “ Most outstanding Microfinance Bank with the highest disbursement count to women & youths 2020“ in the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) Awards.
Speaking on the awards, Oluremi Akande, Head, Communications & Branding, said, “To us at LAPO, we prioritize and develop our business strategies around our clients. These awards trdtify to LAPO’s impact through the delivery of unique, women focused products and services such as our Supporting Female Entrepreneur (SUFEN) and My Pikin & I savings account.

Akande said LAPO has partnered with SME.ng to leverage its Ebi Market place e-commerce platform to on-board its female SME clients to enable them reach a wider network for sales optimization.
“To empower a woman is to empower a nation, we remain committed to our over 30 years mandate of providing opportunities for women taking cognisance of diversity and inclusion for women: 71% of our over 6 million clients are women; 73% of our over 7,000 staff are females, our current Board composition is ratio 4:3, female-male respectively. The recently appointed Managing Director of the Bank is a woman, Mrs Cynthia Ikponmwosa.
