In a bid to carry out extensive works on the Obawole Bridge in Ifako-Ijaiye Council Area of Lagos State, to avert imminent collapse of the infrastructure, the chairman, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke and a team of Engineers from the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, led by Engr. Kelani, today, February 21,2020, inspected the bridge with a view to ensuring it’s urgent repairs.
The visit, which was facilitated by earlier reports and correspondence between the local government and the Government of Lagos State under the leadership of Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was to assess the state of Obawole bridge to enable the administration intervene.
It was further revealed during the assessment tour the need to urgently dredge and evacuate the canal by the Ministry of the Environment, under the drainage services before the rains set in this year.
